CVU Wins The Skyline League Premier Club Championship For Fall 2011!

 

The Premier Club Championship is awarded seasonally to the club who garners the most points throughout all of the Premier Division. It is the grandest prize of the Skyline Club Soccer League. Each team entered in the league may earn club points for their local association through their team’s results.

CVU had 7 teams win their divisions within the Skyline League:

U17 Girls White- Coach Brent Kellum

U12 Boys Red- Coach Caio Peluffo

U14 Boys White- Coach Stephen Davis

U17 Boys White- Coach Perry Mundy

U18 Boys White- Coach Jacob Dorman

 

This is the first Club Championship for CVU, then Lynchburg United, since 2005. This is a great accomplishment for our club and all of us should be incredibly proud of this accomplishment. On behalf of CVU full-time staff and CVU Board of Directors, I want to congratulate all of the Players, Coaches and Parents for your hard work, commitment to player development, and for your continued support of Central Virginia United Soccer.

CVU has partnered with OCCVA (Orthopedic Center of Central Virginia) and The P.E.A.K. to offer a great sports metric program for all male players who are looking for significant increases in performance; in terms of speed, agility, and quickness and female players wanting to scientifically decrease their chances of a serious non-contact knee injury(ACL) while experiencing gains in performance.

The program will begin in early January and will be offered 3 times a week for 6 weeks. The cost of the program is remarkably low at $85. The P.E.A.K. has offered this program exclusively to CVU members are all are encouraged to participate. Details of the testings and pre-program evaluation are below.

When:  Saturday, December 10^th

Time: 9:00am-12:00pm for Athletes & Parents
Where:  The P.E.A.K. at The Orthopaedic Center (back entrance)

The construction of these new fields at our Regional Soccer Complex marks a significant occasion in the history of our Club and represents an important milestone for the community at large.  During the ceremony the Club will announce additional enhancements planned for the Complex that will enable us to expand opportunities for local soccer players and most importantly to host even larger tournaments that will have a positive impact on the local economy. 

 

Those specially invited to attend include members of the Lynchburg City Council, Campbell County Board of Supervisors, Virginia’s Region 2000 Partnership, Greater Lynchburg Chamber of Commerce, Lynchburg Retail Merchants Associations and other community and business leaders, as well as all members past and present of the CVU Family and the greater Central Virginia soccer community.  Members of the press are also invited to attend.
